Alive & Vibrant!

Picture
This moment for mission is billed as stewardship and it is.

This is what I want you to know: That I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant. This is how I know St. Andrew is Alive and Vibrant...

Picture
Worship Services:
Our services are lovingly crafted to dig deep into scripture and challenge us to make applications in our lives. Music is chosen that inspires and informs us. Our choir and bell choir add to the richness of worship.

I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.

This is how I know that: St. Andrew is Alive and Vibrant.

Fellowship:
Fellowship is based on service and learning:  Theology on Tap, Bookmarks, St. Andy’s Gals, Global Warmers, STARS, POACH. We enjoy each other’s company in a variety of settings that encourage friendships while learning and serving together.

I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.

Picture
Christian Formation:
Christian Formation includes Sunday school for all ages, Inquirers, Confirmation, Wayfarers, Youth Group, Triennium. All of these strengthen us as we continue to grow into our faith.

I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.

This is how I know that: St. Andrew is Alive and Vibrant.

Outreach:
Our outreach is both global and local. This year we sent 20 people-20% of our congregation to serve in Honduras at NPH for a week. We house homeless men for a month through ARISE, we support hunger relief through Crop Walk, we will be housing homeless women and their children through the Center of Hope. Our Deacons help those both in and out of our congregation.  We support our local elementary school, Honeydew, with backpacks, Christmas gifts and even a NOISE opera presentation. Our annual Bridge Ministry service is a glorious celebration of the gifts that we all bring.

I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.

Intergenerational support:
People of all ages work together in support of our church. A great example is our prayer ministry-Patti takes the notes and Madeleine sends them out electronically. Our choirs, both vocal and bell include a wide variety of ages. Confirmation and inquirers have participants and sponsors that cross a wide age span. Derek serves on the Worship and Arts ministry, Madeleine and Claire have served on the nomination committee. We genuinely enjoy and respect each other.

I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.

Educational Growth and support:
We offer undergraduate scholarships as well as supporting our Seminary student with scholarships. We hosted Linda Ferguson as a seminary intern and will be hosting Leigh Weber as an intern next year.

I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.

This is how I know that: St. Andrew is Alive and Vibrant

Picture
Church sponsored groups:
St. Andrew sponsors an active Boy Scout troop as well as a thriving Cub Scout group. We celebrate that Griffin recently received his Eagle Scout award!

I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.

Care and compassion:
On a very personal basis I am very
aware of the extraordinary love and compassion offered by our congregation. The  love and support given to Jim throughout his life and then to Steve and I at  Jim’s death has been nothing less than amazing. Craig and Marie for years
brought Louisa to church for services. We rejoice when new babies are born and
mourn together at times of loss.

I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.

Now for the nitty gritty: -this week we mailed out stewardship packets that highlight our goals and the budget for next year. Each of the four ministry departments very carefully set the budget to meet those goals. The budget increased 5% and we ask that those who are able to increase their pledge by 5%.

As your finance elder I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant. I am not anxious about the budget and ask that you prayerfully consider your part. Your pledge cards can be mailed to the church, placed in the offering plate or put in my office mailbox. Pledges are due no later than April 28th.  I have no doubts that St. Andrew is alive and vibrant.  Thank you!

Pattie Holt

Finance Elder
