Shalom
It takes a team of dedicated volunteers in support of the pastor to ensure the smooth and gracious flow of our worship service. Our SHALOM Ministry organizes the volunteers and provides detailed instructions and training to all who want it. The vision for SHALOM is as follows and we continue to work to fulfill that vison, but much work is yet to be done.
- Monthly teams with two Elders each month coordinating the effort
- Ample substitutes on call
- Training and walk-throughs to build confidence and ensure a smooth performance
- Everyone who can walk is eligible to serve in some capacity, including the youth. Only exceptions are the Pastor and Choir members who are busy with other tasks.
SHALOM is an expression of our loving care and concern for each person who worships at St. Andrew. When individuals assist with the necessary preparations, they minister to each worshiper and contribute to the welcoming spirit which we want to radiate through St. Andrew. The satisfaction from one’s involvement creates a sense of ownership in the warmth of fellowship and caring that is generated. That’s the SHALOM Ministry.
SHALOM is more than a word. Each letter represents an aspect of fulfilling St. Andrew's Mission Statement in our Worship service.
