Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. ~Romans 13:8 “The mark of God’s claim upon Israel,” says Erica MacCreaigh in The Christian Century, “is enfleshed, the very stuff of life, not unlike circumcision. The blood proclaims the stakes, and its message to the world is unequivocal: We belong to God—body and spirit—and our allegiance is to God alone.” As Romans says it, “Owe no one anything, except to love one another.” This is, indeed, an economy and a currency of a very different kind than the transactions familiar to us in much of our life together here on earth. And the implications are far reaching in an age of greed and a moment in history when the broad value of human life and all life is once again in question. We again welcome to worship Rev. Scott Lumsden this Sunday—a familiar face, a supportive colleague and friend for many of us. Scott is the Co-Executive Presbyter for Seattle Presbytery. We also welcome back Julie Kae from her summer medical leave. How very good and pleasant it is when we gather in unity! Enter into worship, Sunday, 10:00am, in-person or online.
