St. Andrew Provides a Warm and Accessible Welcome to People with Disabilities

Entering the Space

• Front curb drop-off and pick-up, with covered indoor and outdoor waiting spaces.
• Ample parking and turning space for Access buses and equipped vans.
• Level entryway and no stairs within the church building; all one level.
• Wide doors to accommodate wheelchairs.

Using the Space

• Smooth floors in public areas (no carpeting).
• Flexible seating to accommodate wheelchairs and other equipment.
• Handicapped restrooms, including two large single-stall private restrooms that work well for caregiver assistance.
• Accessible drinking fountains.
• Certified service animals welcome.

Joining in Worship and Events

• A welcome atmosphere for all abilities where you’ll hear phrases like "stand as you're able" during parts of the service where the congregation is invited to rise to participate.

• Large print bibles for use during worship.
• Three large screens displaying the hymn lyrics and some of the other worship components.
• Updated audio system that amplifies worship leader voices.
• Fidget items and coloring/drawing items available. Art table at the back of the sanctuary.
• Quiet room available.

Communion for All

• Alcohol free grape juice used for communion.
• Gluten-free Communion elements available upon request.

Remote Participation Option

• Full weekly Church services and a mid-week prayer service available on-line via live stream at the time of the service or afterwards via our YouTube channel.
